- Be a partner with both the “home” town of the venue and surrounding towns to alleviate the pressure on existing recreational facilities.
- To continue to provide choices for the citizens in the area in relation to what is currently offered for recreational activities.
- To provide the highest quality in the overall venue.
- The design of the stadium is to be visually attractive (both interior and exterior), functional, durable, efficient , and low maintenance.
- The complex will be professionally managed to ensure efficient, safe, secure and effective operations.
- Safety and security issues are to be considered in all aspects of planning and design.
PURPOSE The purpose of the Bay Colony Baseball and Athletics, LLC is to create a multi-functional destination. This venue will consist of a unique sports facility, state of the art conference facility, and unique office space. The anchor of this venue is a world class baseball stadium and an independent baseball team.
DEMOGRAPHICS
The target market will consist of Plymouth County and surrounding areas with focus on the corridor north to Quincy and south to Sandwich along Route 3 and west to Raynham along Route 44. The total population of the target market is 565,389 with over 350,000 from between ages 10 and 60. The median age of the population is 37.4. The growth rate was 8.6 percent between 1990 and 2000 and the projected rate for the next 10 years is over 10 percent. Plymouth is the fifth fastest growing county in the state.
