PLYMOUTH - Tracy Chevrolet has become the first corporate sponsor of the Plymouth River Eels, after months of speculation on whether the team would be able to remain in Plymouth. The car dealership will have its name and logo displayed on top of the River Eels dugout for the entire season, a location sought after by many businesses, according to Tom O’Brien, president and CEO of Bay Colony Baseball and Athletics, the River Eels’ parent company. |

Local businessman Jeff Tracy of Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac on Samoset Street has signed a 10-year contract under which he will have the advertising rights to the home-team dugout when the planned stadium for the independent-league baseball team is built. |

PLYMOUTH - Plans to bring minor league baseball to Plymouth continue to move forward, although at a slower pace than originally hoped. Thomas O’Brien, president and chief executive officer of Bay Colony Baseball and Athletics, LLC, says he is hopeful plans to build a 5,500-seat stadium in West Plymouth will be submitted to the town within the next couple of months.
